There's something magical about returning to a place that holds a special place in your heart, especially during the holiday season. This year, I found myself drawn back to the snowy landscapes and warm, inviting lights of Oslo. This post will take you on a journey through my holiday experience in this beautiful city, sharing the sights, sounds, and emotions that made this trip unforgettable.

A Winter Wonderland

Oslo in winter is a sight to behold. The city transforms into a winter wonderland, with snow-covered rooftops and twinkling lights adorning the streets. I spent my first day wandering around the city, taking in the festive decorations and the cheerful atmosphere. The Royal Palace, with its grandeur and elegance, looked even more majestic under a blanket of snow.

The Taste of Tradition

No trip to Oslo would be complete without indulging in traditional Norwegian cuisine. From hearty stews to delicious pastries, every meal was a culinary adventure. A particular highlight was the 'julebord', a traditional Norwegian Christmas feast, which offered an array of dishes such as pickled herring, smoked salmon, and the famous 'ribbe' (pork ribs).
